Data Scientist
- Hybrid
- Brussel, Brussels, Belgium
- Sales & Marketing
Job description
As a Data Scientist at Cascador/moveUP, you will help turn health data into actionable insights for healthcare providers and life sciences companies.
You will work across data engineering, clinical analytics and artificial intelligence. Depending on your experience, you may build data pipelines, analyse clinical datasets, develop statistical or predictive models, or explore practical AI applications in healthcare.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership, works independently and enjoys solving complex problems together with Product, Clinical and Engineering teams.
Job requirements
What you will do
Develop analyses, statistical models and predictive models based on clinical and health data.
Build and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows.
Clean, validate and quality-control sensitive healthcare datasets.
Translate analytical results into clear insights for internal teams and external clients.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to integrate data solutions into our platform.
Explore responsible and valuable applications of AI in healthcare.
Contribute to data quality, privacy and GDPR compliance.
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Take ownership of workstreams and proactively move projects forward.
About you
You are a curious, analytically strong data professional with a hands-on mindset. You are comfortable working independently, making decisions and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality work.
You have a genuine interest in AI. You follow how the field is evolving, experiment thoughtfully and are curious about where AI can create real value in healthcare.
You are also able to explain complex topics clearly, write structured reports and collaborate with colleagues from different backgrounds.
Ideally, you bring
Experience in data science, data analytics, data engineering, biostatistics or a related field.
Strong Python and SQL skills.
Experience with data pipelines and data workflows.
Strong statistical and analytical reasoning.
Experience with clinical, healthcare, pharmaceutical or other sensitive data is a plus.
Familiarity with machine learning methods and data science libraries.
Excellent English. Dutch and/or French is a strong asset.
A relevant master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
This is not a pure dashboarding or project-management role. You will work directly with data, engage with clinical and technical questions, and help define the way forward.
Growth opportunities
As the company grows, this role can evolve towards AI leadership, ownership of real-world evidence and clinical analytics, or a broader data science or data engineering leadership position.
Why join Cascador/moveUP?
You will join a driven team working on a digital health product with a real impact on people’s lives. We offer a flexible and collaborative environment, hybrid working in Brussels or Ghent, a competitive salary and substantial extra-legal benefits.
Cascador/moveUP is a Belgian scale-up that unlocks health data for better health by collecting, analysing and sharing it in a secure and privacy-preserving way.
